Led by our distinguished board member, Dr. Gerardo Gonzalez-Nuñez, the committee has a wealth of resources: updated and relevant information, contacts, networks and experience in socio-economic, academic and practical matters. Real work and living experiences in Cuba, aside from the fact that some conducted studies and worked in the government's local and international affairs, or visited for international matters, gives the team a very well-informed perspective and access to the real dynamics at play. We study & learn about the opportunities and challenges of this relationship and prospects, under different scenarios, conduct a socio-economic forum on this subject and the social & political implications, influencing factors. Much has being done in Florida in this regard, while hardly much in PR aside from isolated initiatives & projects in which our members have led and initiated or participated.

Puerto Ricans have always been welcomed for our demonstrated goodwill, being uninvolved in controversies, discrepancies or political issues, and positive visits conducted by sports, cultural & business delegations. A common language, similar cultures, empathy and a shared past allows for a backdoor, soft diplomacy initiatives with the Cuban people, and entrepreneurs specifically. We have senior economists, very knowledgeable & well informed committee members and collaborators in the network that have been already individually studying or undertaking personal initiatives requiring more broad support & structure for which we intend to fill the gaps, bring resources and a planning & operational structure.
